An Exchange of Energy follows Kolton Roberts, a tattoo artist from Utah County, on his journey to live authentically outside the expectations of the area’s dominant Mormon culture. After serving a mission in Spain and fulfilling the traditional path laid out for him, Kolton grew disillusioned with his faith. Through his craft and bold choices, this documentary reveals how he channels that struggle into a vibrant life, forging a new kind of connection with himself and those around him.

This short documentary film was a labor of love. Kolton’s experience is very much my own and I was proud to have been a part of sharing his story. A 3 day trip from Washington to Utah became what is now: An Exchange of Energy.
